On April 13, Tallmadge Lutheran Church will host the Northeast Ohio Choristers Guild Festival.

This annual event brings children's choirs from all over the region together for one day of practice and performance, culminating in a Festival Worship Service at 4 p.m. that is free and open to the public. A reception will take place after the service.

In addition to the Choristers singing, the service will include congregational hymn singing and scripture readings.

Choristers Guild, a national Christian organization founded in 1949, enables leaders to nurture the spiritual and musical growth of children and youth.

Tallmadge Lutheran Church is located at 759 East Ave.

Methodist youth to host spaghetti dinner

The junior high youth group of United Methodist Men of Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 N. Munroe Road, will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser April 26 at 6 p.m.

Events at the church this week include:

* April 13 -- United Methodist Men's breakfast with Robert Myers, retired Salvation Army officer, presenting the gospel story in chalk pictures, 7:30 a.m.; Kids Club in charge of both the 9 and 10:35 worship services; Sunbeams and Sonshine Singers children's choirs, 10:20; pastor's Heaven study group, 4 p.m.; The Rock worship experience for youth, 5:30.

* April 14 -- Quilters, 6.

* April 15 -- Deborah-Ruth Circle, 9:30 a.m.; Rebekah Circle, 12:30 p.m.; bible study on Ezekiel 6-11, 7 p.m.

* April 16 -- Jesus study group, 10 a.m.; Chancel Choir, 7 p.m.

* April 17 -- Men's devotions and work group, 8 a.m.; Dorcas Circle, 9; worship team and adult games night, 7 p.m.; On-Line Ringers, 7:15.

Church of New Hope

The Church of New Hope will host an evening of singing hymns April 13 starting at 6 p.m. The Rev. Phil Anderson from Bethel Assembly in Tallmadge will share a short message.

* The 2008 Divorce Support Group meets Mondays at the Church of New Hope from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m.

'A New Earth' topic for study group at Unity

Oprah's online Webcast of Eckhart Tolle's book "A New Earth-Awakening to Your Life's Purpose," now No. 1 on the New York bestsellers list, is sweeping the nation.

"A New Earth" provides tools to make a shift in consciousness from identifying with one's ego to realizing completely new concepts.

Unity Chapel of Light, 503 Northwest Ave., will offer a weekly study group of "A New Earth" on Wednesday evenings, starting April 23 from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. The fee is $10 per session or $50 for the course. For details call 330-928-2108.

The Faith In Action -- Interfaith Caregivers program is part of a network bringing together volunteers of many faiths to help people who have long-term health needs or disabilities maintain their independence by providing non-medical assistance with daily activities.

Volunteer activities may include shopping for groceries, providing rides, cooking meals, running errands and providing companionship through visits or phone calls.
