BEREA — The Cleveland Browns drafted Ohio State defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. with the 54th pick of the 2024 NFL draft. Hall, a 6-foot-2 prospect who spent three years with the Buckeyes, was the eighth defensive tackle off the board. Here's what Browns fans need to know about Hall and our instant analysis of the pick.

Mike Hall Jr. scouting report

Hall, who grew up in Northeast Ohio and attended Streetsboro High School, has always been one of the top targets for the Browns because of position and potential. The attractiveness to Hall is a quickness off the snap, as well as long arms which help him get off blocks. He was seen as undersized by some at 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, although both Maurice Hurst II and Shelby Harris — whom the Browns re-signed in free agency — fall right in that same range.

Mike Hall Jr. stats, higlights

Hall played three seasons for Ohio State, but didn't turn into a full-time player on the defensive line until his final two years. He played 24 of his 28 career games, including all 12 of his starts, over the 2022 and 2023 season. He finished his career with 45 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six sacks. His best season was his second year in 2022 when he had 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
